This fireside chat aims to be a platform for casual exchanges of views on overall aspects of Cambodia-Japan relations between the Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, H.E. Amb. Ueno Atsushi, and Cambodian university students, young civil servants, and press corps. The event has the purpose of deepening public understanding of the bilateral ties between the two countries, particularly how the two sides can actively foster cooperation bilaterally, regionally and globally. Key themes for this fireside chat include 1/ energy security, 2/ economic progress, 3/ human capital development, and 4/ relevant regional security trends of mutual interests between Cambodia and Japan. The chat will be moderated by Amb. Pou Sothirak, Distinguished Senior Advisor to CCRS.
The format of this fireside chat is informal to stimulate interactive discussions for 1½ hours between the Ambassador and the Cambodian participants, centering on spontaneous Q&A session, and comprising no formal presentations.
