In an interview today with Radio France Internationale (RFI Khmer), Him Rotha, Deputy Director, CCRS shared his thoughts on the 2026 General Election in Thailand. He viewed that the election involves with complex dynamics within the Thai domestic politics. He argued that the perception that the Thai people support the war against Cambodia did not reflect the comprehensive pictures of Thailand’s domestic politics since the election was grounded more on the domestic affairs in Thailand. As a way forward, he suggested that pursuing diplomacy is a very important option for Cambodia, and that Cambodia will work closely with the new Thai government to strengthen and support positive efforts towards peace, reconciliation and normalization of the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Thailand.
