From 17 to 19 September 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Amb. Pou Sothirak, Distinguished Senior Advisor, attended the 17th ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Dialogue, organized by the Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia, with the support of Asialink Australia and the Asia New Zealand Foundation. In this track 1.5 meeting, discussions included Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, multilateralism, inter-regionalism, cultural diplomacy, AI regional governance, combatting regional transnational crimes, and role-building in the Indo-Pacific. During this dialogue, Amb. Pou Sothirak was invited to moderate a session entitled “Role-building in the Indo-Pacific: perspectives from ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand”.
