Public Lecture “What can Southeast Asia teach us about International Relations?” on 30 September 2024

The Cambodian Center for Regional Studies (CCRS), in partnership with Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia’s Faculty of Social Sciences and International Relations will organize a Public Lecture on “What can Southeast Asia teach us about International Relations?” by Prof. Evelyn Goh, Shedden Professor of Strategic Policy Studies, the Australian National University on Monday, 30 September 2024, from 9:30am -11:00am, at Sen Monorom Hall, Third Floor, Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (Toul Kork Campus).

Most International Relations concepts and theories are derived from experiences and histories of the west. The International Relations of Southeast Asia are best explained using concepts and theories developed from the region’s own histories and experiences. Moreover, these concepts and theories can also change the landscape of International Relations theorising more generally, and help to improve the discipline’s ability to study other parts of the world.
