Our Distinguished Senior Advisor, Ambassador Pou Sothirak attended the Track 2 Workshop on Conflict Prevention and the ASEAN-led Regional Architecture, organized by CSIS – Indonesia at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta on 16-17 January 2024.
First-day discussions involved: (1) What are Potential Conflicts should ASEAN focus on? (2) Reviewing and Evaluating ASEAN’s Roles in Preventing and Managing Conflicts; and (3) Perspectives of other Regional Organizations on Conflict Prevention Mechanisms.
The second-day discussion involved (1) Identifying Existing Conflict Prevention Mechanism in the Indo-Pacific to Address Imminent Crisis; (2) Finding a New or Improved ASEAN-led Conflict Prevention Mechanisms; and (3) Breakout Session – What Recommendations should we make to improve ASEAN-led regional architecture on conflict prevention.
